Change of focus

Well, it has been a rough 6 weeks in terms of training. My knee flared up on an easy ride the other day....pain similar to what I had 4-5 weeks ago. So, I decided to get an MRI. The MRI didn't show anything serious and it is unclear what is causing my pain. It is truly a mystery. On one hand, I am happy it isn't anything too serious. However, not knowing what is wrong leaves me a bit confused and concerned. Not even an MRI can diagnose the issue. The bottom line is that it hurts and something is certainly really wrong. The Dr. said it will likely be at least 4 more weeks. With this news it is obvious that I won't be racing this year. After another 4 weeks I will have not trained for 10 weeks. I will be starting over completely...this will be twice as long as even an off-season break! So, my return will be slow and just going for rides and runs will take a lot of effort.
Honestly, I am just over this whole thing and I have decided to just stop thinking about it. I am taking 4 weeks (or more if needed) off from activity. I am just going to wait this out and then get back at it when I am 100% healthy. With nothing to train for I am just going to take a "real" break and focus all my energy on Skinfit and coaching. The fact that I can't go out and do what I love kills me but thinking about it and dwelling on the issue kills me even more so it is time to move on and forget about it.
So, count me out for 2009 and who knows what the future holds. I do know one thing for certain...if you need some Skinfit gear or a coach I can help you with that!

I know the feeling (still can't make a fist). If I had the cash, I'd totally hire you as my coach. Heal up, man; I wanna see you killing it next season.

sorry to hear that Trevor... Hang in there bro and I am sure that Skinfit and your coaching will be taking off with your focus.

Maybe you can help me for Xterra Nationals/Worlds?

Nice work on the bbq, a little SLO style with some Santa Maria bbq. Why would you ever come back to SD?

Keep up the good work.

Oh wow- hang in there! You will soon be back, but for now, just get some R&R :) Have you tried Topricin pain cream? Our family loves it! I use it a lot for tired muscles/inflammation and it is way better than relying on oral pain meds! Good Luck, Caroline
